Acknowledgements
I have found so much meaning in and on the grounds of our campus, but it would be worth little without my comrades, co-creators and mentors. To those who have and contributed their brilliance to this project: thank you for bringing this guide to life. We do it for the people of this place, and especially those in the struggle: then, now and tomorrow.
Robin — For your wit and layout skills, this version would not exist. And for your belief in journalism, and all those late nights in Allen Hall.
Myna — For our talks that revealed so much to investigate, joining our voices together in this version and the future versions you will shape.
Max — For showing us the importance of institutional memory: building up my own and so many others. And for always lending an ear in the ROAR.
Abbey — For teaching me how to make my first zine, and reflecting my light back to me (even from afar) ever since.
Laura — For introducing me to geography and landscape, reminding me that the People’s Guide is about power (among so much other guidance).
Aimée + Maya — For inspiring me to begin this inquiry and helping the initial version come to fruition.
Taylor, Kaleb + Harper — For your insights and edits, but most of all your care to campus landscapes that are in, but not of, the university.
Jordan + Darby — For being home base, best pals and co-hosts at the Catnip Cafe.
The Future of the People’s Guide Project: Cole, Riya, Jacob, Hannah, Jack, Diego, Ella and Blaise — For joining in this pursuit and opening possibilities for what is to come.
The ROAR Center + Grove Garden — For being my political homes all these years; for deepening my analyses and struggles; for growing my soul.
